Announcement:

I’m excited to share details and registration information for our upcoming Inclusive Excellence Distinguished Speaker Series event. We are honored to welcome Denise Jess to the College.

Engineering has long improved the lives of people who are blind or have low vision through assistive technologies, infrastructure, and medical innovations. With the April 2026 ADA digital accessibility deadline approaching, the College of Engineering is taking steps to enhance access for students, staff, and faculty with vision loss.

Denise Jess, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired since 2016, champions independence and inclusion for individuals with vision loss and serves on multiple boards advancing accessibility, transportation equity, and disability rights. After the talk, explore the discovery fair hosted by the Council’s Vision Services team, McBurney Disabilty Resource Center, and the Disability Cultural Center staff.
